Batteries, it seems no matter where we turn we are hit by their necessity in creating a greener future and reversing the affects of global warming. The reason being is that in order to reform our transportation sector we need batteries that can stand and deliver when it comes to meeting the storage needs to have high distance cars, as well as having the ability to go well beyond the range demands of today when we consider conventional combustion engines. Soon our cars drones phones and planes or basically anything that has a battery are about to get a bit time boost from a new product out of MIT which is SolidEnergy Systems. The company promises to effectively double the battery life of basic litium ion batteries and this will also offer batteries to have the same capability but at a lower range.
So why is this innovation in particular so important you may be asking. Because it is better than currently tech and can also maintain an energy density of about 400 wh/kg its non-flammable and it can be manufactured inside the existing factories so you can bet your bottom dollar that you are going to see these innovations out of MIT pretty soon so here you go.
The company has basically raised about 12 million dollars since last year and its going to market as soon as November. they’ll be releasing cell phone batteries first in 2017 cause lets face it the stakes are a little lower than when it comes to a car and when we consider the sheer size that is playing a big roll in determining why we feel this move has been made. They’be even begun in a factory in Massachusetts that is big enough to house the wings of a Boeing 747 so lets face it they are going to be a big deal if they get off the ground as a manner of speaking because that investment in infrastructure is pretty special and you are not likely going to see anything like that in a while.

What people are not addressing enough is that this is really the biggest release that is like the superman saving the day moment we have had in a few years and one of the good bits of news when it comes to combating the effects of climate change. The next thing is the fact that they don’t have the proper range. but day we can say that the Tesla Model 3 gets about 250 MPG imagine when they can get 500 MPG, that is a game changer.
